El cantant càntabre es va presentar a la primera edició del programa “Operación Triunfo”, llavors emès per TVE. David Bustamante va aconseguir ser un dels tres finalistes del popular concurs, juntament amb els andalusos Rosa López i David Bisbal, i amb aquest, és el que més èxit ha tingut posteriorment, fins i tot tenint en compte les altres realitzacions de l’espai, tot i que, en ocasions, el seu nom és més present a les pàgines de la premsa rosa que no pas a les estrictament musicals.

Formació inicial: Stuart Braithwaite (guitarra i veu), John Cummings (guitarra), Dominic Aitchison (baix), Martin Bulloch (bateria) i Brendan O’Hare (piano).

El grup escocès Mogwai va ser fundat a Glasgow per Stuart Braithwaite, Dominic Aitchison i Martin Bulloch, al qual es van afegir John Cummings i Brendan O’Hare. Amb un estil força original, normalment instrumental, la banda va ser una de les màximes representants del gènere postrock, mitjançant passatges introspectius i còsmics que alternen moments calmats i pausats amb altres de trepidants i potents. La formació és clàssica en festivals de caire alternatiu.
